VINCENT WEBSTER BLACK was born in Missoula, Montana and currently resides in Helena. From a young age, Vincent showed a strong love for writing. In first grade, Vincent wrote a series of over 30 short stories, and his love for short fiction only grew with time. In middle school he was introduced to the works of Edgar Allen Poe, falling in love with the macabre and the dark unsettling parts of the mind. He soon fell in love with the works of Shirley Jackson, after reading her short story the Lottery in his freshman English class. He started writing one act plays for his high school theater group, his sophomore year and would eventually get to see his first full length play brought to life his senior year. His first novella, Count Valentine, a religious horror/thriller was released in October 2022. He is also the co creator of Deimos Films, who publish short horror videos online. He will also post literary and film talks occasionally on his personal Youtube Channel.
Vincent Black was raised in a “cult-like” environment by his biological father and stepmother, and was later adopted by a supportive family at the age of 17. Vincent’s work tends to lean toward the themes of guilt, shame, dread, and wrath. Although his work leans strongly to the thriller and horror genres, he does have a sense of humor, be it dark. He has crafted satiric and black comedy sketches for the special presentation, Dead Air by Lonnie Higgins. He currently plans on continuing writing novellas, plays and short stories as a hobby.
